Are you looking for a great gift idea for somebody interested in photography? I would not call this an entry-level DSLR but it’s great for those a little more serious about photography. This camera comes at a higher price point, so only for those interested in shelling out a bit of cash to make someone’s dreams come true!
My Two Cents
I bought myself this camera for Christmas a couple of years ago and it was the best decision I ever made! I can’t tell you how much I absolutely love this camera. It is, in my opinion, the best crop sensor camera money can buy. My opinion is based off of a lot of research that I did before I bought the camera, as well as the past 2 years of use.
There is a newer version of this camera available now – the Nikon D7200. While the newer model has a few extra perks, they are almost the exact same camera.
The Nikon D7100 is a remarkable piece of technology. With a 24.1 megapixel DX image sensor, two SD card slots, built-in HDR, bracketing, 6 FPS continuous shooting, 51 autofocus points, and excellent low-light capabilities (not that you should be bumping the ISO any more than you have to), this camera is the bomb dot com. It also has a very good video camera.
If you or someone you know is looking for a really good DSLR, you found it. I can’t stress enough how awesome it is.
