These recipe books are handmade by Alyssia from Forest Nine in Calgary, Alberta. She uses black walnut wood for the covers, sands them down, and finishes them with beeswax and plant oils.

They can be customized in many ways at checkout, including size choice, and quotes, phrases, names or anything else you want engraved on the front or back cover!

There are 160 blank pages for you to fill with recipes and you can choose between various paper options! You can add the extra paper option to your cart at checkout if you don’t think 160 pages are enough. The pages are hand-bound and the book will lie completely flat no matter what page it’s opened to. It comes with 6 stick-on tabs for creating categories within the cookbook.

    I really like this idea. I like the look of the cookbook, it is unique, and the fact that you can customise it with anything you want written on it makes it even more special. When I moved out of my parents house my mom put together a cookbook of all my favourite recipes. Don’t know why though…she knows I can’t cook 🙂 But anyway, it is nice to have and make some homemade favourites from time to time. This is a great gift idea and I might consider getting one for my husband. He does the cooking so he would actually have some use for this, thanks for the idea!

    Hi there,
    What a great gift idea. The wooden cover is so different…definitely wouldn’t want to hide that away in the cupboard, it could easily be a permanent fixture on the kitchen bench somewhere.
    You have some great gift ideas here…I’ll browse some more 🙂
